It has been a busy fortnight with a schedule including majorgolf and live trading from Himmerland Hill.
Not at all succesful in terms of profit in the markets, but still exciting times.
Brooks Koepka just gives zero fucks! He is massively impressive with his ability to turn everything on when it is time for the majors. The likes of this kind of dominance can only be compared to Tiger in his prime. What a player!
Unfortunately the way he won The PGA Championship was the worst possible for us golftraders. When a top-player wins wire to wire with a big margin, there are very few opportunities in the markets, and despite Betfair’s attempt to still get the money flowing by opening a “Winner w/o Koepka”-market, it just isn’t the same.
Dustin Johnson tried his best to make things exciting on Sunday, but just as he seemed to have caught up with Koepka, he made a mistake and Koepka held everything perfect together.
The next major, US Open, will be one of the most exciting events of the year at Pebble Beach with Koepka, DJ, Tiger and Phil making the headline stories. Can’t wait!
On a smaller scale this weekend, the Made in Denmark was the focus. I was there in person, following one of the most popular events on the European Tour.
It is always great to see the players up close and witness just how good they are, and this week was no different. But I was also present the first three days to try and take advantage of the limited coverage and time delay from when a shot is hit to the shot is shown on TV.
However, unlike my few previous experiences with this approach, this was not succesful. Despite a massively improved field, prizemoney and a new schedule slot in May, there was virtually no liquidity in the market, and very very limited opportunities.
So i decided to travel home and trade the Sunday final round from my screens. Loosing a big pile of money due to Bernd Wiesberger’s very lucky lie in the deep rough on the 5th hole, and battling the rest of the Sunday to a small profit for the week, rounded of what has been a very poor month.
Its a real struggle at the moment, and I really need thing to take an upturn soon…
Have a great week, none the less!
